Hosho Kuro Tomoharu (宝生九郎知栄)

Kuro Tomoharu HOSHO (1837 - 1917) was a Noh actor of the Hosho school of shite-kata (lead actors). The 16th head of the Hosho school of shite-kata. His infant name was Ishinosuke.

He contributed to the restoration of Noh art, and was celebrated as the Three Noh Masters of the Meiji Period together with Minoru UMEWAKA the First and Banma SAKURAMA. Kuro Shigefusa HOSHO was his son.
